Born and raised in South East London, I’ve spent the last 14 years championing communities through frontline and advisory youth work, often using creative initiatives. When asked what I did for a living, I’d say, “I’m a firefighter” not in the traditional sense, but because I deal with the ‘fires’ in young people’s lives. One recurring ‘fire’ I’ve seen is the harm caused by gambling - an issue that affects many families but is rarely spoken about.

So, when the chance came to work with Betknowmore UK on a project addressing gambling harms in London’s Black communities, I jumped at it. I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around gambling, encouraging open conversations, and connecting people with the support they need to recover and thrive.
